Mother awoke,
tanning dept.
Surrounded by bonking lights.
An antenna tower
could be seen out back,
where angels hover, proud as hell
freezing over.
Pots of unwanted flowers
to be tar
and feathered. Far and tethered
to the sun
and the moon
and the drizzling rain.
Gathering wood from deck
a holy battle of bitten shipwreck.
Wild burros
ate the wildflowers.
Watered by snowmelt
what comes back to life.
Death Valley
amber cosmos
rose like jello,
carved in fifty heads,
snakes biting their time.
Raising zombies
crying ballet
in the bathroom
never tasted so rotten.
So never forgotten.
And other long featured
experimental extinctions.
